The inviting Arts Café sits inside the Royal Cornwall Museum, and runs into the art shop and up onto the mezzanine area, so there is plenty of seating for your morning coffee, lunch meeting, or afternoon tea.
Fresh, colourful salads, homemade soup, jacket potatoes, quiches sandwiches and toasted paninis are all made to order, using local produce where possible.
Scrummy scones are baked by the chef each morning, and there are also toasted tea cakes, flapjacks, gluten free brownies, lemon drizzle, and the local favourite carrot cake to deliberate over.
Our expert barista Julian rocks our hot drink world, creating the best lattes, flat whites, and cappuccinos in town, with a little extra knowledge, love and flourish. Ethically aware Cornish coffee company Origin supply our fresh beans, which are roasted down the road in Helston. We use Origin’s Farmer30 blend of Arabica beans from Brazil, which promotes financial, social and environmental responsibility and sustainability, and guarantees the farmer a minimum of 30% profit margin. They are passionate about the standard of their coffee, and so are we.
We serve loose leaf tea in quirky tea pots, and are fully licenced, with wine by the glass or bottle available, and local beer and cider on offer.
During the colder months, sink into a sofa while sipping hot chocolate with all the trimmings, or relax over a long lunch by the log burner. In the summer we’ve got alfresco eating in our sunny courtyard, where you can enjoy a glass of wine or cold cider.
Art books and magazines are on hand for inspiration, and we’ve also got the daily papers to ponder over, and toys and colouring-in to keep the little ones out of mischief.
The café is available for private hire, and we are also able to provide bespoke catering for any function you may be hosting.
If you’d like to surf the world wide wonder web while you are here, we have free wi-fi – just ask at the till for a code.
